When I Said "I Do"

Twenty six years ago today, I said "I do" at the age of 18 (well I was turning 19 in just a few weeks). Jason was 21. I prayed for the man I would marry and I definitely got him! (He had been praying for the girl he'd marry too). The love we had in the beginning was great but it doesn't even compare to the love that unfolds as we live our lives from day to day!

We've had our share of bumps in the road, happy days, disappointments and crazy adventures....and all of these with God's guidance got us where we are today!

We were married for 7 years before the Lord blessed us with Colt, then another almost 10 years before he blessed us with Joy. I love being a wife and mother and count it an honor to be both.

My dad knew Jason would take care of his little girl and he always has. My mom has been his mom since he lost his a year after we were married. We've lived next door to my parents since 2 years after we were married and it has worked out beautifully!

Jason and I actually met at church with a few of our "adult friends" playing match makers! They just knew we were right for each other. We were engaged at the same church and then married there almost two years after we met.

We spent our honey moon in the Ozarks and that's where we'll be spending this anniversary too (well the weekend).

So if I could do it all over again, would I do it? Yep, definitely. I look forward to growing old together and beginning each new chapter in our lives with my best friend and soul mate.

Tammy, as I read your blog I see so many similarities in both our lives. I to was married at 18, June 19th, we also met in church, dated 2 yrs. The path our kids entered our lives. I bet if we lived near each other we would have been dear friends! I spent all day in the car driving to Dallas with my hubby yesterday and I agree he is my best friend. I wouldnt have wanted to be with anyone else! thanks for the warm and fuzzy feeling you blog gave me today!! Dawn

Happy happy happy anniversary! What a wonderful sweet post. I love reading about true love stories like yours. The ones that have survived the ups and downs and many years of marriage. It is so true, both are great, but the love that lasts this long is different and so much deeper than that young love.

Oh if I could be a grammy tomorrow, I'd give up this temporary sense of order in a minute! Family is what it is all about.

Have a wonderful anniversary trip and many many more happy years together!!

hugs, Linda

And GRAB that award too - you deserve it. You are such a sweet, kind and caring woman and I love your blog and appreciate all the kind comments you have left for me!!

Awwwwww! A very big Happy Anniversary to the both of you! I hope you have had a truly beautiful day! I never got to wear a proper wedding dress. I was 10 months pregnant with our first son, and wore a nice dark blue dress. I always dreamed of wearing a proper one, but it didn't happen. LOL! Thanks for sharing your photos.

Blessins,
Andrea
