I just wanted to pop in here real quick for a couple of things.......
First of all, Joy has been in the hospital since Monday with a flare-up of the pancreatitis. However, we caught this early on, so it looks like we're getting out of the hospital today! And her pain level this time is nothing compared to last time. For that, we are thankful! We're still praying for complete healing though! We would appreciate your continued prayers!
Secondly, today is Jason's and my anniversary....our 31st anniversary actually. :) I am so blessed to have him by my side in this life. I trusted God for sending me the man he had for me all through my teen years, and He was faithful to send him to me. I never would have thought it possible on our wedding day that I could love him more, but I do today. Our love has grown in so many ways. God has blessed us with our precious children and in so many more ways. I am truly thankful for 31 years with him! I can only imagine how love grows in the older years and I look forward to many more with this man God gave me! :)
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! :)

A Small Change
The flags on the bobbins and candlesticks came from my mom and dad for our anniversary. I fell in love with those at the antique gallery and I could just picture those on the mantle. So I was really tickled to get these for our anniversary. Isn't it funny how the anniversary gifts are usually geared more towards the wife than the husband. :) I'd love to see some gameboards up there, but this is a step in the right direction.
And I moved the geraniums in the picnic basket from my sunporch to the hearth on the little bench.
This splash of color was just enough to make me happy( for now).
Of course, fall is coming, so who knows what will come next....... :)

♥ Our Ouachita Mountains Trip (Part 2) ♥
Are you log cabin lovers ready for another tour?
The Wilderness Cabin, which was located in close proximity to our cabin, was loaded with lots of rustic charm and character too. Only it’s much bigger, boasting two bedrooms downstairs and a loft upstairs with a twin and full bed. This cabin also has two bathrooms. I could live in this one, folks.
Hope you enjoyed the tours of the cabins! Come back tomorrow and see what all of this inspired!

♥ Our Ouachita Mountains Trip (Part 1) ♥
My favorite style of house is most definitely a log one, or at least rustic. My heart leaps at the sight of one. I always wonder what it might look like inside…….if it reflects the same character and charm on the inside as it does (for me) on the outside. And I always hope that it would!
Speaking for me, I couldn't bear the thought of a "modern decor" in a log cabin. For me, it would be disappointing.
Well, the little cabin we stayed in most definitely didn't disappoint. It wasn’t overdone but was simple and sweet. And it was definitely rustic and charming oozing with character. I thought you might enjoy a tour, because YOU KNOW I took pictures! As a matter of fact, I'll just warn you.....this post is very picture heavy! Feel free to scroll quickly. :)
So here we go……..
The outside of our cabin: The Newlywed Cabin
Come on inside!
The back porch:
And the view from the back porch at sunset:
And just for fun, here are a few pictures taken from the back of the 4-wheeler on our ride. We rode 80 something miles on the 4-wheeler on Saturday. Most of it was down backroads leading to the ATV trails. I didn’t get pictures of the actual ATV trails because I had to hang on to Jason on those if I wanted to stay on the back of the 4-wheeler! Lol!
I so enjoy scenery like this. These are my kind of roads! There was so much of God's beauty to take in and enjoy!
There was a much bigger cabin across from us that the owners graciously let us tour. We hope to come back and stay in it in the fall and bring the kids. I’ll be back tomorrow with pictures so you can tour that cabin too! Oh boy was it pretty! You're in for a treat if you like log cabins!
If you're looking for a peaceful get-away, I highly recommend these cabins! Email me if you'd like information on them and I'll be glad to share the info with you!

The bed was on a platform. It was beautiful! |
Wasn't that sweet and romantic? :) |
Just look at all of that wood! Ahh! |
See that basket on top of the armoire? That's a picnic basket and it was provided and loaded with dishes for us to use for our outing. |
Oh my goodness I loved that cabinet door! |
Loved all the little details and touches like the shutters on the windows! So charming! |

A Perfect Start
Our anniversary trip has been bliss! We're having a great time. We set out early yesterday morning. It was a perfect day!
On the way to the cabin, we stopped in to support Chick-fil-A, (and for the yummy food). We looked up one that would be on our way to the cabin. And wow! It was amazing how many people came out to support them too! On the inside, the line was wrapped all the way around the restaurant and doubled back, and the order lines were jammed with people shoulder-to-shoulder, with more coming in constantly. That doesn’t even count the drive-in, which by the way they had to call in police to direct traffic. And as crowded as it was, all the people were so friendly, happy, and patient. The wait was so worth the cause!
And this gentleman (employee) that worked there was walking around serving free chicken to everyone.
It was so neat to see everyone coming together and it was fun because they would call out the names of the orders (people’s names) and the folks in front would pass the bags over their heads to the folks waiting on their order. Jason and I walked out of there bursting with hope and encouragement!
Then we arrived here. And it’s everything I hoped it would be….and MORE!
Look at this view!
We’re headed out early in the morning to do a little of this on the trails…..
It’s fun having a 30 year honeymoon! (More pics when we get home)!

Thanks so much to both old friends and new ones for joining Paula and me for our chat. I knew you would love her and those that already knew her…..that you’d love her even more. Thank you, Paula, for being such a wonderful guest! I enjoyed our visit so much! Hope I didn’t hype you up too much on that sweet tea! :)
