Home Tour

Welcome!

Come on in and make yourself comfortable. I’d love to give you a tour of our home. There’s really nothing fancy about it – informal, just like us. We love a cabin/primitive/farmhouse feel, so we hope our home reflects that and that you feel cozy and comfortable here.

We’ll begin the tour with the living room.  These are the newest pics with our new Johnston Benchwork furniture, which was a dream come true.  I held out a long time for this furniture!  It was just delivered in June (2012).  I lived with 22 year old furniture until I could get what I really wanted!  :)

Now for the kitchen.......These pics were taken at Christmas time right after the kitchen makeover.

Next we'll walk through the dining room.

For more pics of the dining room, you can click here.

While we're in this part of the house, we'll step outside the kitchen door onto the sunporch.  This is the room we come through to enter the house after parking in the detached carport/garage.

Next stop is the hall bathroom.

The master bedroom is on the list for makeovers, but this is it for now.  I would describe it more as romantic country:

The kids' bedrooms definitely fit their own personality, thus they don't fit the rustic/farmhouse/primitive style.  We'll begin with Joy's (our now 14 year old daughter):

Luke is our 5 year old son that loves anything with wheels:

Our oldest, Colt (now 24), has moved out into his first apartment....but this was his room until about 9 months ago. This was one of the only pics I could find of his room - probably because it was never straight enough to get good pics.  His passion is music (and playing video games), so his room fit his style. There were several guitars hanging behind the futon, but somehow I didn't get a picture of that.  One day in the not-to-far-away future, this room will get a makeover.

Now we'll back through the sunporch, out the back door, and upstairs to the apartment/pool house above our carport/garage, which we lovingly refer to as The Cedar Loft.

We like to stay out here on Friday nights, from time to time.  We feel like we're enjoying a cabin getaway, but it's only a few feet from our back door.  :)

A few of these were taken this past Christmas, and some before we began any decorating.

Hope you enjoyed your tour!  Come back anytime!  :)

Hi Tammy,
Your home is absolutely beautiful! You have done such a lovely job decorating. I felt like I was touring my dream home as I looked at the pictures... if the Lord means for me to get married someday and have my own family, I would love to live in a home decorated like this. It reminds me of beautiful simplicity, almost an updated version of Little House on the Prairie :)

I am so happy to have found your blog, which I actually found through Joy's. I am inspired by your faith and love your posts! I look forward to reading more.

God Bless you!
