About Me

Hi!   I'm Tammy.....the Country Girl behind the blog.  :)

This is us.....our family. We are Jason, Tammy, Colt, Joy, and Luke.

I’ve been blessed to be married to my hubby and best friend for 31 years.

The Lord has blessed us with three precious children, not in our timing, but His. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. Colt is our oldest – 24 years old. Born in South Korea, the Lord blessed us with him through adoption at the age of 5 months. He was the one and only for almost 10 years when his (now 14 year old) sister, Joy, arrived, the old-fashioned way. Then little would we have dreamed that nine years later, we would travel to Inner Mongolia, China to bring home our 2 year old son, Luke (now 5 years old). Spread apart in years, yes, but each one a perfect addition to our family. We’re truly blessed and so thankful that God grew our family according to His plan.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

We are a Christian homeschooling family taking life a day at a time learning as we go.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

I love being home. It’s my favorite place to be – with my family. It’s definitely where memories are made. I prefer keeping things as simple as possible because life is more pleasant that way.

I enjoy decorating our home – in a style I would describe as a blend of primitive/rustic/farmhouse country. I’m blessed to have my own personal carpenter (my hubby) that enjoys building furniture for our home (that I usually dream up for him).

We’re definitely do-it-yourselfers – working side by side in home improvement jobs - seems like we always have some sort of project going on.

When I have the time, I enjoy crafting, photography, thrift store shopping, repurposing, playing the piano, scrapbooking, reading, and blogging, but mostly just hanging out with family as we travel down the path God leads.

Hi Tammy, I just came across your blog this morning because i had googled for the Hawaiian Sweet Rolls Sammies (lost my recipe). I love your blog!! I just have to say i about choked when i read where you said you had been married for 30 yrs, girl you hardly look 30 yourself!! :) Anyways I too am a homeschool mom that loves the country life & as you always has. Grew up a city girl, but am now blessed to live in the country on 12 acres, but wouldn't say we are farmers, although we have our own chickens & few other "pets". Keep up the good work in the Lord & thanks for your beautiful blog! Blessings, Cyndy (oh & I also have a son, my oldest also, who recently moved out on his own).

I just found your blog and I was so warmed by seeing the adopted faces. :) My family does foster care and-so far-we have adopted one little boy, who was JUST adopted on July 16th, 2013! :) The Lord has made us realize just how amazing adoption is, after all, God adopted *us*! :)
