Gifts from the Heart

My dad always stops by my house (you know they live next door), and brings my mail to me, which is a very nice thing to do I might add! He always pops in and says hi to the kids and gives them a hug and brings in our mail. Well this past Friday, I had two very nice surprises in the mail.

The first one came from Julie, Country Girl at Heart. Julie is one of the most genuine and sweetest people I've met through blogging. To me, these qualities shine through on her posts. This really blessed my heart! I love it! You know how talented Julie is with needle and thread.....well she stitched me a snowman pillow.
Isn't it adorable? The pillow has a home (for now) on the bench in my foyer. Thank you so much, Julie! What a nice thing to do! (She lives by her signature...Be Nice to People).

The second gift came from another online friend from the Country Sampler Forum. Jill (aka jbean) sent me a sweet card with note pads and bookmarks tucked inside. She knows how much Joy and I read together. Joy already claimed her notepad and her bookmark! I've really enjoyed getting to know Jill through the forum and she has been a kind supporter of my blog. She is such a sweet person. Thank you so much, Jill (from both Joy and me)!

The next thing I want to share with you is a gift not given to me, but to my mama. Remember last Thursday was her birthday? Well, Joy has been working on something for her for quite awhile now. She has been sewing buttons onto an old pillowcase in the shape of a heart that she said she was giving her grandmama for her birthday. She finished it on Friday, and we framed it and took it over to mama Friday evening. Well needless to say her grandmama loved her gift! She was so proud to have it and know the time Joy spent on it.

She told Joy she will treasure it always and it is displayed in her living room on a shelf.

I would say those are all gifts from the heart. And they're definitely the best kind. :)

I agree those are the best gifts. I used to cross stitch a lot of gifts and then I found my new love scrapping. Now I make a lot of books for gifts. Ihope your Mama had a great birthday. I hope you took a lot of pictures. :)

Tammy, I'm sorry, I don't know why I said pillow I meant frame. I guess because she used a pillowcase.

What wonderful gifts! I love both things you received in the mail...

And the heart pillow is adorable that Joy made her grandma!
I just now showed my girls...I'm thinking, even though I myself am not a seamstress, that's something at nine, my daughter could try for a beginning project!
I love the picture of Joy with your mom...so sweet!

Tammy, you are the one who is a wonderful friend by sending me that little tree in the mail!! So it all starts with you!! I almost cried when I saw what you posted what I had sent you...it is nothing special but just a big thank you for making MY day! I have been sick for over two weeks now so this really cheered me up that you thought enough about my little gift to post on your blog.

Anyway, the button picture is so adorable that Joy made!! What a perfect project for her to get started in crafting. And keeping her busy doing good things and not getting into trouble!! LOL
Love the pic of her and your mom! Your mom looks like such a sweet lady. Lucky you!!

Well have a great day!

love
Jill (aka jbean)
