What Happens When I Blog......Lessons Learned.

Yesterday after Bible School, Joy had her friend, Molly Grace, over to play and swim. They look innocent enough here, right?

Well this picture was taken after an afternoon of swimming. (Oh and Molly Grace is wearing some of my old stretchy clothes because she didn't have an extra change with her). So they were looking for something else to do. These two can cook up some adventures, believe me! They both love adventure, outdoors and animals. So the next thing they did was chase the cats around the house (the cats ALWAYS run because they never know what kind of clothes they'll be wearing or what "adventure" they'll have to endure!). Then they invaded Colt's room (luckily he wasn't home....well lucky for them!)

But that's not all....

After this was taken, I decided to work on my blog a little upstairs on the desktop computer. I should have known better. (That's why moms should ALWAYS listen to their gut feeling)!

From upstairs, I hear, "Mom, can we have a snack?" Of course, I hollered back down that it was fine. Now I should also tell you that I had just stocked the pantry (brought groceries while they were in Bible School). So it was a "Hallelujah Smorgasbord" for them, I guess.

This is what I came downstairs to find:

I guess they couldn't make up their mind, so they just took it all:

This is what Joy was eating: Chips dipped in ketchup and poptart. Her drink of choice was a Mountain Dew.

Molly Grace REALLY couldn't make up her mind so she had a bowl of cornflakes, a chocolate chip waffle (with syrup) and nacho chips. She quickly pointed out though that she did drink healthy....she had a cup of milk!

They proceeded to tell me what an appetite they had worked up! The good news is that they DID clean up their own mess. Good girls!

Can you believe later they had the nerve to ask me if they could make cupcakes......from scratch???? That was definitely shelved for another day!

I learned a couple of lessons yesterday.

1) Use the laptop downstairs when Joy has company over!
2) Be more specific when asked, "Can we have a snack?".

Lessons learned.

LOL! I agree with Katy - too funny! One of the best things about finally being empty nesters is the pantry stays stocked for a few days at least.

Same way at my house, Tammy girl...
When I know some of my g-kids are coming over, I run to the store and stock up on SNACKS...I try for the healthy ones...fruit and etc but Ding Dongs and cupcakes and ice cream usually end up in my cart, too. Then, when the kids get there...the first place they head is the pantry and freezer! They KNOW!!

Hilarious!

Tomorrow you will hear, "We don't have anything in the house to eat".

At least they cleaned up their mess! :)

Good lessons :)

Kids must all look in the cupboards and think that way. My kids seem to think there is NOTHING here if things are flying out of the cupboards. Very annoying!

Oh, this was great! :D LOL

I love those snack combinations...I suddenly remembered some of my own strange concoctions I made for myself when I was young...which now make me queasy just thinking about! ;)

The pictures are so cute...

I love the first one of them together...but they do look kinda' like they're ready to find some adventure! :)

Blessings,
~Tammy

Okay me again, Wow Tammy, I would have done just like the girls. You had all that great food for them to choose from, and swimming makes you so hungry! Deb

Hi, Tammy!
Oh my, swimming DOES work up an appetite! That's sweet that they cleaned up -- not alot of children do that. You are blessed!

Thanks, so much, for stopping by to visit with me!
Yep, we homeschool! We'll begin our 12th year, this fall! Sometimes, it doesn't seem that long, other times......whew! But it really is the best thing for
our family!
Each of our children are 5 years apart! So our oldest and youngest are 10 years apart (like yours!)

We've done the Prairie Primer 3 times and I think we might do it next year with our son. I've wrestled with it -- thinking it's more for girls, but I think we can work around it! Those books are just too good!
I love that Pioneer era, too!

Okay, now that I've taken up your whole comment box...I'd better get!

Blessings,
Julie

I'm picturing my boys as teenagers and their friends eating me out of the house. My husband has warned me about teenage boys' appetites!

I would of done the same thing if mom wasn't "paying attention". Grab the junk food!

Oh that is too funny!! I can see that happening at my house, but no one would clean up afterwards! LOL

P.s. The theme idea for show and tell is completely optional...feel free to share anything you like!

That is so extremely funny! Sounds like something my boys would do! They are always wanting to raid the pantry or fridge. And if they ask if I have any ideas what they could snack on, they never like anything I suggest.

Andrea

Hi Tammy,
Yes, you sure are blessed:0 Both girls are so sweet!
I showed Sydney Joy's picture and she said " she looks like me", she has dance photos too.
They both got a thrill hearing what Joy had to say!

I loved this story...it reminded me of the many many times my son would get into some sort of mischief when I was busy (or on the phone). Thanks for sharing...the pictures were great!
