I’ve met so many wonderful people through blogging. My family actually knows many of you by name (or blog name) because I talk about you as friends. And we’ve prayed for many of you and I know you have prayed for us at times as well! This includes non-blogging readers that email me too!
I thought it would be fun to get to know a little more about some of these wonderful people by featuring a blogging friend here at Country Girl at Home. I guess it could be called an interview but I prefer to think of it as a friend-to-friend chat. Imagine it like this…..I invite you over and we sit out on the sunporch with a glass of lemonade, or coffee if you prefer (I love to smell the coffee brewing anyway), and a piece of pie or cake and we just have a good ole time visiting. It would be a simple, casual, comfy and cozy time of me getting to know you a little better and then sharing with our readers! That's why I decided to call it Sunporch Chat. :)
I haven’t decided yet how often I’ll feature a blogging friend. I’m kind of thinking that I will do it monthly for now, but that may change to more often – possibly twice a month. From the point of contact about being featured, I’d like to give my guest(s) adequate time to think about answers to the questions (a couple of weeks if needed) to think about their answers to the questions and time to include any photos they’d like to add.
I’ve already invited my first guest and sweet blogging friend, Ms. Betty of Through My Back Door to Country Girl at Home for a Sunporch Chat and she graciously accepted. I’m excited and honored! I had the privilege and pleasure of meeting Ms. Betty in person back in March. Many of you visit her blog and have prayed for her granddaughter, Amanda, who has come through quite a journey with breast cancer (triumphantly by the way) to the glory of God!
Ms. Betty has her questions and will be working on these. I’ll announce the time that she will be featured on a post ahead of time so you won’t miss her visit!
The next fun thing coming to Country Girl at Home is an idea that has been floating around in my head to encourage and motivate me to following through on projects. My intentions are good, but my follow-through needs a push. You know how I love Pinterest! Well pinned so pretty on my boards are so many great ideas and inspiration just waiting for me to take advantage of them! I figure I’m not alone in the follow-through department – so maybe it will be fun to have a day set aside to share something we’ve pinned and then followed through and actually made, read, tried out, reviewed, purchased, etc..(whatever fits) whether that be a recipe, a craft, a décor idea, or a book.
I’m calling it:
I’m gonna host the first one here next Monday, July 23rd. So, I’m cordially inviting you to join me here (PLEASE join me). :) Come link up with me here on Country Girl at Home and take the button (which will soon be posted with the code on my sidebar and/or on a new page at the top of my blog) with you and let’s share what we pinned and made! It’ll be fun! (I'm going to try have have the linky thing up by late on Sunday night so it will be ready for you early risers Monday mornings). :)
In between (and in addition to) these fun things coming, I’ll be doing my regular posts – sharing what I’ve always shared here – my home, family, faith, home improvement projects, and homeschooling adventures.
And don’t forget about Faithful Fridays with my daughter, Joy, of Doodlebug. She asked me to invite you to join. You can now link up with her on Fridays and she’d be exciting if you did. We’d love to hear what God’s doing for you!
Stay tuned for the feature day for Ms. Betty’s Sunporch Chat!
And as always, thank you for stopping by and for your comments! I appreciate it so much! Blogging friends are the best! :)
