Goodwill Makeovers, Awards, and a Giveaway

This weekend and into Monday, I worked on a couple of my Goodwill finds. I had many more in the pile but just didn't make it to them yet. So they still sit in a corner of my dining room patiently waiting. I will feel like I would have so many "new" prim goodies if I can ever find time to get to them!

Here's what I did get done:

Remember the wooden bowl I picked up for $5 at a flea market that had the fruit inside.....

Here it is now. I plan to put dried pears in it (when they arrive).

And this wooden box was also a Goodwill find (shown here with the rolling pin and basket).

It will most likely have a home on the back of the toilet when we redo our bathroom, which is our next home improvement project (just waiting for that tax refund check). As a matter of fact, I took a picture of it here in the bathroom so you could see what a nice fit it is for the back of a toilet. (Is it proper to be saying "toilet" on here?)

I know it doesn't match now, but before long, it will be right at home there. I will probably put some soaps with prim labels.....still on the lookout for just the right things for that. I'll be sure and show you when it's filled.

Can you tell I am still in love with my barn red/burgundy, distressed of course (with antiquing glaze). I think I will never tire of it! Red just makes me happy!

Next today, I'd like to thank Amber,Joy, and Gigi for the Berry Sweet Award. It was "berry" sweet of you to think of me! (I always find it so hard to pick people as I've said before, so I invite anyone that would like to display it on their blog to do so, as my gift to you too).

Amber also just presented me with the Sisterhood Award as well. Amber is the daughter of Karen of Homespun Simplicity. She is a sweet girl and I know we are sisters in Christ too!

Anne of Seasons of the Past, is having a wonderful Spring Renewal Giveaway. Just look at what all is included! If you would like to be included in this giveaway, click over and enter today for this giveaway in April! (But I really want to give these goodies a home here)! :)

If you haven't "seen" me awhile on your blog, please don't give up on me! It's been a very busy last couple of weeks. We don't have to go to dance class tonight (it's their spring break), so I really hope to sit down with my laptop and stop by for visits. Thanks so much for all your visits and comments! I love reading them so much! :)

Great redos! I love the barn read stuff too...I have trouble finding just the right shade though. I've always been too afraid to try it on anything big, like a furniture piece. I just stick to's pretty heard to screw that up:)

And just so you know...I said "toilet" on my post for today too. So if it isn't proper, were in the same improper boat:)

Okay...I need to know what color that red is!
Mine is way too bright and I just stay away from it as much as possible.
That looks like the exact color I am looking for.

I love your redos! I use a lot of barn red in out house. Everything I redo is painted either black or barn red.

I want to work on our bathrooms soon too!

No pressure allowed in blogging! We've been really busy too and Leah Kate had a stomach bug so I haven't been on the computer much either!

Hi Tammy,
Oh, how I love the bowl and wood box! You did a great job on them, I just got back from GW, Lowes and Walmart and at GW I found a huge wood bowl so surprised that it was even there on the shelf.LOL Maybe I'll try the red on mine:)
PS I know how you feel about the hard to get to them with babysitting and just plain life but I try:)

You've been busy! It's all looking great, too! I haven't been online much lately, but think of you often. The pics of Joy (India) bring back some sweet memories of our homeschooling days. Cute!

I love that bowl. Ok now i have to start looking for them. I would have passed that thinking that's a lot of money for an ugly bowl. Now I would say only $5 for that bowl!

I love the colors you have chosen for the bowl and box. Just curious what are you re-doing the bathroom in? I want to do my bathroom in the pattern of your kitchen curtains. One day. :)

I love all your re-do's are so creative and talented! I love red too, but haven't painted anything in it yet. Do you spray paint or brush?

Have a great weekend!

Hey Tammy,

I absolutely love the redo's. The reds and burgundys are my favorite too. There is something about the red family that I love. Maybe because I love Christmas so much and red gives me a taste of Christmas all year through. The bowl is great. It would actually look great on my kitchen

Take care...many blessings,

Wow Tammy, You did a great job with your Goodwill treasures. I especially like that wooden bowl.

I have a hard time keeping up with other's blogs myself these days. We have alot of yard work to do in Spring.

We'll all just do what we can. Okay????
