My 100th Post Giveaway & A Custom Order

Today is my 100th post. It's hard to believe it, but it's true. I've had so much fun with my blog. Blogging for me, combines many loves. I love to write; I love to share about my family; I love to share about our homeschooling experiences; I love to share decorating and home improvement projects. I have "met" so many nice people through blogging and the CS forum. I'm honored, excited, and humbled to know that it's enjoyed by others as well. So please know that I don't take it for granted and I appreciate each and every one of you that stop by to visit my blog. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! :)

And now to celebrate that 100th post...........how about a giveaway? As tempted as I was to make it a Christmas one, I held back! (That way I get to do another one that's Christmas related later, right?) This is a fall giveaway. Here's what the winner gets:

It includes a burgundy distressed table bench made by my hubby (primmed by me), a set of fall blocks made by me, a leaf resin bowl, a package of faux acorns and faux leaves. (runner not included)

Here's a closer look at the table bench. It is antiqued burgundy. It measures 11 1/4" wide x 20" long x 5" high.

This fall blessing block set was my first attempt at making my own set of blocks. I freehanded everything...so it is amateur, but I hope you like them anyway!

And the bowl is in the shape of a leaf. It is made of resin.

Also included will be the colorful autumn leaves to sprinkle around and a bag of faux acorns.

Here's the rules: Leave me a comment if you would like to enter (bloggers and non-bloggers welcome). Within the continental United States, we will pay shipping. If you live outside the continental U.S., you are welcome to enter and should your name be drawn, we will pay shipping up to $15.00. Any cost to ship over and above that would be your responsibility. I really wanted to include everyone, so I hope this helps. Since we are gearing our Etsy store toward small unfinished wooden decorative items and small furnishings, we would also like to know in this comment...If you were buying wooden decorative items and small furnishings unfinished (to be finished, customized by your self to your own preference of color and distressing), what items would you be interested in? That gets you entered once. If you would be so nice as to post this giveaway on your blog, I'll also add your name in two more times for a total of three times. A name will be drawn out on Thursday, October 9th, at 10:00 a.m. (central time). I will announce it soon afterwards. Please remember if you leave an anonymous comment as a non-blogger, to leave me a way to contact you if you win (an email address).

And since a new blogging friend of mine, Dianntha (Ohio Farm Girl) agreed to let me share this with you, I'd like to show you a custom order of two sets of shutters that she purchased for her garden shed.....well this is one set of them anyway.

Now Dianntha and her family have been very busy working around and on their home and garden shed lately. She bought these shutters unfinished, then customized them with paint to match her home. Click here to see the shutters on her garden shed. Thank you so much for your order, Dianntha and for letting us share! And everyone can stay tuned...at a future date, she'll show you something else that was part of that custom order that she's working on....and I can't wait to see it customized myself)! Thanks, Dianntha!

Unfinished Shutters Added to Our Etsy & Jo-Anne's Giveaway

After a recent request for a custom order that involved unfinished shutters, we decided that just might be something that my prim friends and fellow prim decorators might be interested in......unfinished primitive shutters. I've learned through painting on my own and most recently our kitchen remodeling, that color shades can vary even just the slightest bit! There are so many burgundy red shades, as well as mustards, and so on. By adding this option to our Etsy store, hopefully it opens up more options for the customer.

We've just added the unfinished primitive shutters to our Etsy store. This set shown is 7" wide by 36" long. They were purposely left unfinished so that they can be customized to the decorator's liking....favorite paint or stain, and even distressed as much or little as desired. I'd love for you to stop in our Etsy store and check them out! If another width or length is needed.....that's not a problem either! Just contact us and we'll work with you to get the size needed!

And speaking of Etsy stores, Jo-Anne of The Carter Clan, just opened her very own Etsy store and is hosting a wonderful giveaway in honor of her store opening. Hop on over there and check it out!

Yo-Yo Barettes & a Meme

I wanted to show you all the cutest barettes that I purchased from Kate through her newest Etsy store, The Buzy Bee. You can also find Kate to the side in my Bloggin' Buddies under Kate's Kountry Kottage. She's got a new blogging name....A little of This and That. Here's a link to her blog.
http://kateskountrykottage.blogspot.com/
If you love these little barettes or are into scrapbooking, take a look! She's got some really cute things. Thanks so much, Kate, for the speedy delivery too.

Joy just loves her barettes. She chose the lime green one today to wear and you would have thought we ordered the top to go with it....we had a perfect match. We met some friends for lunch and they just loved it! She's planning on wearing it to church this evening too. Here she is modeling it for you:

And a little closer:

Isn't it just adorable? I just saw where she has these on ponytail holders. I think we're going to have to eventually get some of those. Joy wears her hair in a ponytail so much!

And on another note, I've also been tagged by Ms. Deb of Deb's Country Kisses with a meme. Thanks so much, Deb. I assure you...you are WAY more interesting than me! I mean how can I compete with taking your husband breakfast in bed EVERY Saturday and Sunday morning! You're an angel!

Okay, here goes:

I was asked to do the following:

Name 5 things I do for myself:

1) Try to find at least one thing to look forward to everyday.
2) Put makeup on everyday (I also do it for my hubby).
3) My time on the computer blogging and the CS forum.
4) Color my hair (you just never know...it's one thing I'm daring with).
5) Search out country decorating goodies for my home.

Name 5 kind things I do for friends, my children, or partner:

1) Pray with and over both of my children every night as they go to bed asking
God's blessing and protection over them.
2) Iron my husband's clothes every night and lay them out for him for the next
morning.
3) Take my mom to Dr. appointments.
4) Teach my children at home.
5) Coordinate our local homeschool support group.

Name 5 kind things I've done for a stranger:

1) Invited an eldery couple in my home when their vehicle broke down near our
house...visited with them and gave them a cool drink and snack.
2) Helped a few people in those motorized shopping carts at Walmart get items
from a high shelf that they couldn't reach when I saw them having trouble.
3) Took pictures of a girl and her family when she was leaving for Iraq. They
didn't have a camera except for a cell phone, so I offered and emailed the
photos to them.
4) Dialed a wrong number by accident and carried on a conversation with this
lady for awhile about her family. My family couldn't believe I didn't know
her (or her name) when I got off the phone.
5) Try to remember to always hold doors open for people when we're out.

Name 5 hobbies I enjoy:

1) Decorating my home....country style.
2) Photography
3) Blogging/CS Forum
4) Scrapbooking
5) Reading

We Are Blessed

Those three words pretty much sum up our lives (my family's life that is).

I ordered these blocks from Kindra.....3 Guys, a Girl, and a Prim Place. She opened her new Etsy shop a few weeks ago, Mommasprimitives. I had my eyes on both of her block sets that she had on there....these and the country bath ones. These blocks just said so much that I decided on these first. (Hey, my bathroom just might be next on the redecorating list!)

I placed my order and couldn't wait to get them in....which was a very quick delivery by the way! Kindra's definitely got it together! And when they arrived and I opened my box, she had them all tied together with a piece of homespun and the sweetest "tag" note attached.

Isn't that sweet? Thank you so much, Kindra!

Here's the blocks....just perfectly prim!

I couldn't decide whether to put them in my dining room, on my sunporch, or in the living room. In the end, I decided on the living room. The deciding factors were that they simply just stood out great on those crates and I loved that it made such a statement in the room that people usually come into first in our home. Since I'm a piano teacher, while moms are waiting on their children, they usually sit on the couch. It's a perfect "bird's eye view" to the blocks.

After all, if there's one thing I want everyone to know about us, it's that WE ARE BLESSED.....and for that I am so thankful.

Giveaway at Kindra's Blog....3 Guys, a Girl, and a Prim Place

Hey everyone....be sure and check out Kindra's blogspot! She just opened her new Etsy store! She is selling her own handmade items. She is also giving away two prizes (handmade by her too). Just stop in.....take a look at her Etsy store...and come back to her blog and tell her your favorites and she'll put your name in to the basket for the drawing. I just love her prim block signs! I've got them on my wish list...the bathroom one AND the blessed one! Oh, and the drawing will take place over there on June 2nd...so be sure to stop and visit Kindra before then!

Have a great day!
