Faithful Fridays & a Weekend Getaway

It's hard for me to believe that it's already Friday again. Where did this week go? A week goes by and I never seem to accomplish what I planned on accomplishing! Maybe it's because I procrastinate.....I need to do better!

Being Friday, it's time again for me to share with you through Faithful Fridays with Joy how God has been faithful in my life or the life of my friends or loved ones. The first one I have to share just because I'm so excited is that.......Donna of Never-So-Simple had a huge answer to prayer! I know I've been praying for her, as many of you have. She got the job for which she interviewed and will start the job next week. As I told her, I can't help but think how she blessed Joy and I this week with the goodies and God has blessed her with this job. God works like that, you know! Anyway, I'm so happy for this answered prayer for Donna! Yay! Woo-Hoo! PTL!

Second of all, I guess because it's just that time of year, when we venture out more and notice all the beauty around us with the flowers, trees, birds and other creations,....that God took the time to create all of this things in perfect order and then created us to care for and enjoy these beautiful creations!

I told you that we were finished with school for the summer, and for the most part, we are. However, we are taking part in a summer Botany class, using the Apologia's Elementary Botany course, Exploring Creations with Botany (which I highly recommend by the way).

We read and study on our own and do some of the experiments at home and keep an ongoing Botany notebook. Then twice a month on Fridays, we meet with other homeschooling children, and fellow homeschooling moms/teachers Kim and Jane, who elaborate with hands-on activities and projects. Anyway, through this reading and paying closer attention to the details of God's creation, I've come to appreciate God's beautiful creations, all the more!

It's amazing how God created and equipped each species with it's own special things it needs to survive. Have you ever dissected a flower or stopped to realize how each flower is pollinated? Bees decide each day what type of flower they'll pollinate that day and God designed it that way to ensure that species of flower will continue and be pollinated. How can one NOT BELIEVE in our Creator....God who took the time to give these details to every living thing? And God created things in the order they needed to be created in order for them to survive. It's just an awesome God we serve!

My hibiscus bloomed out so beautifully this morning:

That brings me to the words of an old hymn that I've always thought was beautiful: This is my Father's World. I'd like to share that with you today: (Verses 1 & 2):

This is my Father's world, And to my listening ears,
All nature sings, and round me rings, The music of the spheres.

This is my Father's world, I rest me in the thought,
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas; His hands the wonders wrought.

This is my Father's world, The birds their carols raise;
The morning light, the lily white, Declare their Maker's praise.

This is my Father's world, He shines in all that's fair;
In the rustling grass I hear him pass, He speaks to me everywhere.

And finally, this weekend, we are going to enjoy a little getaway to our friends, Betty and Richard's home again! I always look forward to my visits there. My mom and dad are going along too. Jason, Joy, my daddy, and Richard are going trout fishing. Joy is very excited about this and has been waiting to go for some time now! My mama, Betty, and I will be doing our own thing.....a little shopping! Betty has found a couple of "junk" stores that she thinks are right up my alley, so I can't wait! Then we are going to have a dinner and after dinner, there will be a singing out on the premises where everyone brings their lawn chairs and enjoys the music! See why I love this simple pace of life? I think I must crave it! It's probably a sign that we stay WAY too busy! :) I'm looking forward to a fun filled, yet restful weekend with my family and friends!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend too! And remember if you'd like to share something God has done for you...how he's been faithful to you and your family, we'd love to hear about it. Click over to Joy's blog and let her know in a comment, so we can visit! :)

Blessings!
~ Tammy ~

Thanks for commenting on my blog. My newest grandbaby is doing great! He got to go home just 5 days after he was born, even with being so small. God was so good to us in that. Hope you have a great weekend!

This Is My Father's World has been my absolute favourite hymn since I was a little girl. Isn't it just wonderful. I hardly ever hear now as my church doesn't sing the old hymns much any more. I'm so pleased someone else loves it too.

Ya, isn't it cool when we're making a choice, and we are not quite sure what we are going to choose, and God already knows what our choice is? God is so awesome!!!!

Have a great day,
Lyssie
