Calling all Americans

Believe me, I would feel much more comfortable doing a post on my decorating and home improvement projects, homeschooling adventures, my faith or my family.....but I felt compelled to write this post. Actually it's BECAUSE of my family that I write it....and I sincerely do so with the best and kindest intentions.

You all know that my vote went for McCain, and I have to honestly say that I've had a heavy heart since election night. I'm truly worried about the future of this country....not so much for me....but for my children.

BUT, that being said, I do know that the future of this great country doesn't necessarily lie in the hands of ANY one man, but most of it will have to do with what we, the American people, do (and say). For years, I think we've let some things (issues) slip in or slip by and America is worse because of it. I love my country and have always been especially proud of America. I want my children to grow up with the same freedoms and the same nation under God. Our forefathers knew what they were doing when they fought so hard to establish our freedoms and to carefully create and word our Constitution. I believe as long as our country stays under this umbrella of principles and also remains a nation under GOD, and a friend to Israel, we will be a blessed nation. If we stray, America will suffer and deteriorate from within.

If there's one thing I think we all share (at least the readers that I believe visit here) is a deep love for our families so that's why I challenge and ask you all as fellow Americans, and Christians, to stay alert, stand up, stand together (regardless of who we voted for), and speak out. There will be times, as there have been in the past, when laws and amendments on issues will come into play that will threaten the morality of our country and thus affect the lives of our children because of the society in which they will have to live. So, I'm calling all Americans....you will have to step out of your comfort zone....but this country and our families are worth it!

If you've stayed with me this far on the post, I sincerely thank you, my blogging friend, and ask God's blessing on you, your family, and our great country!

Blessings!
Tammy

I have posted a special post, on my blog, to go along with yours.
Hope you don't mind that I copied your photos. If so, let me know and I will add something different.

Tammy.. you gave me goosebumps reading your post. As Christians as well as Americans, we now more than ever have to stand firm on our beliefs. We can't be bullied into accepting whatever comes down the pike. I pray for guidance and wisdom for our new President that he will let God direct his decisions and choices and that no one man get in his way or influence him.

Blessings,
AMY

I feel that we have been silent too long as far as moral issues. In God's eyes there are no "gray" areas...it's either right or wrong. Thank you for speaking up.

Amen!

My family also voted for McCain/Palin and I too have many fears regarding the new regime.

We know that God is on our side and in the book of Daniel this is what it says - (May the name of God be praised forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to Him. He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and establishes kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. (Daniel 2:20-21 HCSB)

We have to believe this. I, like you, am so concerned. I could go on and on but will not.

Thank you so much for your blog. It is good to see Christian people out here standing up for our rights, which we must do.

Tammy,

I am also worried about our Country and what will happen in the future. Last Thursday was my last day at work and I am worried about finding another job but most of all insurance for my family. I hope American's and Washington will come together and make sure we get back to what's important. We need to put morals and values back into this Country and less greed. Thanks for your post I ALWAYS enjoy them.

Tammy, you already know that I have felt just as burdened in my heart since Tuesday night. In fact, that night I was more than crying...I was actually sobbing because of the choice my beloved country had made.

I know some bloggers are saying isn't it wonderful to witness an African American becoming president for the first time...and I agree...if only he upheld Biblical principles. But sadly, he does not, and I simply cannot base my support on the color of a person's skin, but for what lies beneath it.

That all said...I have also been in like mind with you that we need to make our voices heard even more clearly now. So easy to be complacent (as I have been) when we have the banner of a pro-life president over us...but now that we do not, perhaps the good in this is that we will be a stronger voice.

I have always had such a deep love for my country, so please pray for me personally that I retain that...and so I can model it my children right now!

Hugs,
~Tammy

Tammy--love your blog, love your views....love you! LOL! I, too, have had a heavy heart since this election. I fear what this President & Congress will do to this once great country. We ALL need to be in prayer for this country and our elected officials.

Tammy, what a sad day when we allow the news media to run our country...and to run God out of it. As we pray for mercy and grace from God let us only see the truth in all the events to come...When you can't stand...kneel. Dianntha

Well said Tammy!.. I agree with you 100 %. Barack Obamma will have my respect ..as I gave President Bush ). (56 million others voted for McCain, if that makes you feel any better)...we will be heard should the occasion arise...but in the mean while, I will put my faith and trust that Our new administration can steer us through these turbulant times. We have a very bad forcast the year ahead and I really believe even a depression will occur. I pray everyone's jobs be secure..but the facts are self evident...we are in trouble as a nation...thanks for bringing this subject up.

Tammy,
I feel exactly as you do! Thank GOD that one man does not have all the power alone to make all the decisions for us!
It is our duty to make sure we are counted and that we voice our opinions so that we can be heard.
Great post!
Have a wondeful weekend!

I do feel the same way about this country even though I voted differently. I am filled with hope for our future. We didn't get this way overnight and we won't fix it overnight but I believe we will come out this in time while still retaining the same freedom and rights we are blessed with.

Have a great weekend!

We are a blessed nation, and it will take good people like you and many others that I have found in blogland to pray and stand for the values we all believe in. We CAN do it!! By the way, I took all your wonderful goodies to a quilt group I'm in to show off. They all said that you must be a very kind and generous person. I told them that you were. Thanks again. Julie

Hi Tammy. This has been laying heavy on my heart also. I keep trying to find some good in it.I was raised in south Georgia, lots of hate down there...being pumped into each generation I saw it every single day. I am hoping this will heal some of the hate and finally lead to some forgiveness. We have to remember God knows what he's doing and we just continue to pray for all of our leaders and God will always have a hand in every decision made.Hugs BeCca

I'm with you Tammy. We have to actively participate in our government and pay close attention to the details so we can bind together to secure our freedoms.

Beautifully stated my friend!
