♥ My New Pennies Pillow ♥

You know how sometimes you just picture something somewhere before you ever have it? Well we've had our new Johnston Benchwork furniture for nearly a year now and I've pondered over exactly what type and color pillow I wanted for my fireside chair. My pilosophy is to do nothing, or buy nothing, until I'm sure of what I want.  :)

What I pictured in my mind's eye was a pennies pillow, but I was just trying to decide on colors! When I made my decision, my long time blogging friend and friend from the Country Sampler Forum, Karen of My Colonial Home and owner of KM Primitives made that vision become reality! Karen is one talented lady!  (Thank you, Karen..I love my pillow)!

It's amazing how a little pop of color from a pretty pillow made that corner all the more cozy! :)

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll come back tomorrow and join my guest and me on the sunporch for a Sunporch Chat!  :)

♥ Goodies for Decorating ♥

It's been awhile since I've been thrift shopping, or at least thrift shopping where I have found something to bring home with me.  However, this past Saturday I was so excited to spy these goodies and bring them home!

I get really excited when I find one of these brown crocks, especially at a good price, so I knew it was coming home with me, if nothing else did.  I will probably rub some mocha glaze over the lighter spots and chips of the crock to give them an aged patina.

I also have a thing about cookie cutters, especially these red handled ones.  And the price was right on this little mason jar and tin, so I couldn't pass them up either.  Oh, and wooden spoons....I like those too.  I will be grubbying those up a little.

Finding these things is only half the fun.  The second half of the fun comes in decorating with them.  :)  I'll be working on that.

I had to show you my woolie bunny made by Trace.  I won her contest by guessing how much she paid for a thrifty find and the prize was this little fella.  Isn't he cute?  :)

And just yesterday, I received the penny rug that I ordered from Felicia. It matches my kitchen perfectly!  I love these colors!

I get a little excited when I get to add a few new goodies to my home.  :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll come back and join my guest and I on the sunporch tomorrow for a chat.....the more the merrier!  :)

Oh, and if you would like to sign up for The Bible Mini-Series giveaway, you can do so here.  I will announce the winner on my Faithful Friday post on Friday, March 15th.

Have a great day!

Woolie Apples

Good morning! I’m getting the idea from visiting many of my blogging friends that, like me, you’re ready for fall! As I type this, it’s a lazy rainy day which gives me just a hint of fall. It’s so fall(ish) and snug right now in our home, with the darker skies outside and the cozy lamplight inside.

Fall is my favorite season! I get excited just thinking about those cool crisp days and that certain look in the sky, the feeling in the air, and the sound of the cicadas/locusts in the background are really loud right as fall approaches.  That sound always takes me back to the sounds of cool nights at Grandmother and Grandaddy's house on the lake.  I especially love the colors of fall – all those gorgeous variation shades of red, orange and yellow!

With fall in mind, I wanted to share with you my newest purchase…….these woolie apples lovingly made by Trace of Granny Trace Scraps & Squares. I already have them displayed in my living room, in the treenware on my cedar chest coffee table.

There was no way I was putting these beauties away and waiting until the first of September (when I break out the rest of the fall décor). They make me smile every time I walk by them. Don’t you just love the colors? I sure do!

Speaking of Trace, or “Granny Trace” as she is known, she is a precious lady. She is one of my newer blogging friends that I’ve met over the last couple of months, but one I feel like I’ve known forever. I immediately thought of Trace as a “kindred spirit”. Many of you may already know her, but if so, maybe you'll learn a little more about her, and if you haven't met her yet, you’ll get the opportunity to do so tomorrow! She will be over here at Country Girl at Home for a Sunporch Chat. I love Trace’s heart…..it’s a heart anchored in the Lord Jesus and bubbling over with love and joy for family and home. Won’t you come join us tomorrow?

And thank you so much for stopping by today!

Laptop Research and Reviews

We've been looking at laptop computers in stores and online. Of course, we've asked the sales reps what their picks were, which computers seemed to come back more for repairs and such and got a few varied answers, yet most seem to put HP, Dell and Toshiba at the top of their list. We now own two Dells, one desktop and one laptop. The desktop is still fine, although the resolution has improved in newer computers. However, our laptop is probably in its last days, although it has been a very good computer. It has seen lots of use and probably abuse as it has been hauled everywhere and used by the whole family at times. It's doing some strange things lately though, so we're in the market for a new one. So this brings me to our search again. Like we are with anything, we have to thoroughly research our options before we will sink any money into it. We plan to purchase in a month or two.

We have pretty much narrowed our search down to Dell and Toshiba. I'm pretty sure I want a 17" screen since this laptop will pretty much be staying at home (except for maybe when we travel). Isn't this red pretty? After all, red IS my favorite color!

But then this Toshiba gives you just about the same features (very very close) for less money. It's not the pretty red, but I don't want to choose a laptop based on color only. (The exterior of this one is called onyx blue).

So I'm asking you all....what type of laptop do you have? Why do you like it? Can anyone compare Toshiba and Dell? All reviews are requested and welcomed! I can't wait to hear from you!

And I'd like to thank everyone for the comments on yesterday's post. I appreciate the new "followers" as well! I hope you all have a great weekend! Stay warm! :)
