Faithful Fridays......One Nation Under God

It seems like I'm averaging a couple of posts a week, sometimes three lately. I'm going to try to do better. Life is just happening and at a fast rate, at that. I hope you all had a great week!

I have been thinking about sharing my heart about our country, and I did a little bit a couple of Fridays ago, especially about praying for families. Today for Faithful Fridays, I want to share something that I received in an email that really says all that I feel about our country, the administration, and the direction in which our country is headed. Both Jason and I have had many sleepless nights, and long conversations (with each other and other folks too) about standing up, speaking out, and not being silent about our beliefs and making these known, especially to our politicians that represent us (as Americans). I can tell you that what I say here is not just something that I'm telling YOU. I have my officials' phone numbers and I call them on a regular basis and ask them to vote against (or for) different bills or issues that arise. I want to know in my heart that I've done what I can do and that I'm not just sitting back and letting a handful of people speak for me. I want my kids to know the same great America that I know. Some of the changes that are coming will take so much time to reverse, that we have to speak up NOW. I realize that I may offend some people, and I don't say these things for that reason. I am just speaking my heart here and since it is my blog, I feel I have the right to do so, just as you do on yours. The intent is purely to ask others to stand up, speak out, call your Senators and Congressmen, and don't just assume that these things "can't possibly happen in America" because they are happening....and at a fast rate. Get involved, please. And pray.

Here's the email that sums up how I feel (with the best intent of my heart):

Respect the Office? Yes. Respect the Man in the Office? No.

I have noted that many elected officials, both Democrats and Republicans, called upon America to unite behind Obama.

Well, I want to make it clear to all who will listen that I AM NOT uniting behind Obama!

I will respect the Office which he holds, and I will acknowledge his abilities as an orator and wordsmith and most definitely pray for him, BUT that is it.

I have begun today to see what I can do to make sure that He is a one-term President!

Why am I doing this?

It is because I do not share Obama's vision or value system for America;

I do not share his abortion beliefs;

I do not share his radical Marxist's concept of re-distributing wealth;

I do not share his stated views on raising taxes on those who make $150,000+ (the ceiling has been changed three times since August);

I do not share his view that America is arrogant;

I do not share his view that America is not a Christian nation;

I do not share his view that the military should be reduced by 25%;

I do not share his view of amnesty and giving more to illegals than American citizens who need help;

I do not share his views on homosexuality and his definition of marriage;

I do not share his views that Radical Islam is our friend and Israel is our enemy who should give up any land;

I do not share his spiritual beliefs (at least the ones he has made public);

I do not share his beliefs on how to re-work the healthcare system in America;

I do not share his strategic views of the Middle East, and certainly do not share his plan to sit down with terrorist regimes such as Iran.

Bottom line, my America is vastly different from Obama's, and I have a higher obligation to my country and my God to do what is Right!

For eight (8) years, the Liberals in our Society, led by numerous entertainers who would have no platform and no real credibility but for their celebrity status, have attacked President Bush, his family, and his spiritual beliefs!

They have not moved toward the center in their beliefs and their philosophies, and they never came together nor compromised their personal beliefs for the betterment of our country! They have portrayed my America as a land where everything is tolerated except being intolerant!

They have been a vocal and irreverent minority for years; they have mocked and attacked the very core values so important to the founding and growth of our country!

They have made every effort to remove the name of God or Jesus Christ from our society! They have challenged capital punishment, the right to bear firearms, and the most basic principles of our criminal code; they have attacked one of the most fundamental of all Freedoms, the right of free speech!

Unite behind Obama? Never!

I am sure many of you who read this think that I am going overboard, but I refuse to retreat one more inch in favor of those whom I believe are the embodiment of evil!

President Bush made many mistakes during his presidency, and I am not sure how history will judge him.

However, I believe that he weighed his decisions in light of the long established Judeo-Christian principles of our founding fathers!!!

Majority rules in America , and I will honor the concept; however, I will fight with all of my power to be a voice in opposition to Obama and "his goals for America ."

I am going to be a thorn in the side of those who, if left unchecked, will destroy our Country!! Any more compromise is more defeat!

I pray this will wake up many who have sat on the sidelines and allowed the Socialist-Marxist anti-God crowd to slowly change so much of what has been good in America !

'If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.' - Ronald Reagan

As I said before, I have committed to praying for our leaders at least as much as I would have something negative to say or criticize. I want to be clear on that. I pray for them daily.

One last thing that I want to pass your way. If you haven't read about The Obama Administration's Health Care Plan, you can click here to read a summary of what is involved in this reform. This really concerns me and I think everyone should read how this will affect us. You can choose to read the overview of each section or the full text bill. (HR 3200).

Also, here's a place to find your officials with their contact information so that you can be involved too.

If you stayed with me this long, I sincerely thank you! I hope you'll stand up for what you believe in concerning America......ONE NATION UNDER GOD.

God bless you!
~ Tammy ~

Tammy, I whole-heartedly agree with you and the email you got!

I am also praying for our country, our leaders and decision makers, and for the family unit. I made that promise when you posted about it last time and I have not wavered from it, not will I.

I'm not about "attacking" any one person, especially not the President, but I do not agree with his plans either. Nor do I share his beliefs.

With prayer,all things are possible.

Thanks for posting this! Hope you have a gerat weekend!

Amen Sista! I am so with you on all of that and that e-mail totally hit on many issues that I don't agree with also. You've got a strong and courageous spirit, Tammy. There needs to be more people like you who are willing to take a stand for what they believe in. I am going to take some time to read that plan, as I've been meaning to anyway, but thanks for the link. That makes it so much easier!

That being said, I wanted to also thank you for your kindness and prayers regarding my last post. I'm so overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness of others through their comments on my blog. You're a special friend and I hope you know how much I appreciate you.
Have a great weekend!
Hugs~ Birgit

Good for you Tammy. I totally agree if we don't stand up for what we believe in what right do we have to complain. I will say one thing this past election did was get a lot people to vote for the first time. No matter who you voted for its a privilage so many of us have over looked in the past. It's just one small step we need to keep walking and standing up for ourselves.

Good job Tammy! It takes alot of courage to stand up for your beliefs on a public blog too, I so admire this courage and your stand for Christ!

Wow! I'm with you. I posted awhile back about our local abortionist being shot and killed and how I felt about that. I lost several followers over the post. Am I crying? No. You keep on with what you have to say and I will definetley keep reading. So glad that I clicked on!

Hi Tammy,
A HUGE AMEN TO WHAT YOU JUST SAID AND THEN SOME!!! you hit the nail on the head here to what we believe in, in our household..we have government healthcare and it sucks..we wait 3-4 weeks for an appt..and when we get it we are there for at least 4 hours to be seen, talked to and get our meds..that is just too long in my opinion..we agree that on everything you spoke of..Yeah we cling to our bibles and our guns..and should have that god given right to do so and not have somebody come in and tell us otherwise...I pray for our president as well...and hope to that he pulls his head out and gives us the "change" for the better and not what he thinks it should be....thanks for the wonderful entry needed to be said..:)

I feel so refreshed to see this post. I have to say we are on a similar page. Recently I've posted about standing up for what we believe is right and I have contacted my representatives.

I have some liberal minded relatives who have stopped reading my blog because they think I am 'negative' against their political views by expressing MY opinions. It's MY blog! Perhaps it's my fundamentalist Christian views that bother them.

They post their liberal ideals and their opinions of how they think 'Christians' should be screaming tolerance, then turn around and can't tolerate my beliefs and political views. humm

I try to speak the truth in love and I see you are doing the same thing.

Keep praying sister and remember 'If we don't stand for something, we'll fall for anything'.

I am fairly new to your blog and I just have to say a big huge THANK YOU!!! for posting this. I totally agree with you. I have disliked presidents in the past, but this is the first administration that truely scares me.
I have posted several things on my own blog, but have since removed them because of the stupid and rude comments left by those with their heads in the sand.
My husband and myself have also spent many hours discussing this and we are to the point of voting with our feet if the country takes more a drastic turn. It's all very frightening and I'm not sure what any of us can do about it, they are in control and we may have to just wait out the 4 yrs and hope and pray the country isn't too distroyed by then.
Enough said, I just really wanted to thank you for this post.

Hi Tammy Thank you so much for posting this. I agree with you 100%!
People often forget what makes this country so great is because it was built on God. If they take that away then we will be like everybody else.

I will stay in prayer and trust that God will see us through this difficult time. I would just LOVE to have a truly honest and sincere person be our president...ya know? Loved this post! have a great weekend!

Hi Tammy - I sent you this as an e-mail as well....

I praise you for standing up for what you are strong in that faith and we too believe it and pray our country will change for the better and not buckle under Obamah.

I don't have the eloquent words you do but just wanted to say Thank You for posting what we all need to hear and hopefully we will be a better nation if more think and act as you do.

Bless you Tammy and thank you for standing up for what you believe.

We watch Fox News on a regular basis and if you haven't listened to Glen Beck then please do will certainly start to understand why we need more people like him and Tammy fighting for our rights.

Hugs, Karen

Very well said and I agree! It scares me what is happening in this country on so many levels, it's definately NOT the America I grew up in! And after all, what ever happened to WE THE PEOPLE...? It seems like we the people have been over run with politicians and those in high standing positions:(

Tammy, I totally agree with what you've stated in your blog! We've got to all keep praying for our country, and for our president, congresmen, and all the politicians as well, and voicing our beliefs to them!! There are alot of plans/beliefs that the president has that I, too, do not support nor agree with... It is scary to think that if others don't stand up for what they believe in, by contacting their public officials, and stating their beliefs...what will happen to this America that we all love..

At the rate we are now going, living in America as we have known and loved, will no longer be. There will be no freedom whatsoever...

Thank you for posting this Tammy! It is of great concern to my family and I too!

Thank you so much again, for helping me on the CS forum yesterday!! You're one very special lady!!

You and your family take care now, and have a really great weekend!!

Love & Blessings,

YES, YES, YES!!! I agree with you 100%, about where this administration is headed and the fact that we need to be heard. My family is three father, myself, and my son, military, and it scares me to think we fought for, and continue to fight for what this administration is trying to do.

I agree whole heartedly. Barry Linn (?) has already come after our church and pastor for preaching things that are truthful from the pulpit. He claims separation of church and state. What's next, state churches????

I contact my politicians all of the time and either get canned letters or no response at all. When I call, it seems like it is an effort to take my message.

There are members of my family that don't agree with me but we get through it. My husband is so adamant about making sure he is a one term president that he is doing all he can to make sure people know how he is. Also, we must get out the vote for the 2010 election and make sure a lot of the others get voted out that want his agenda.

Keep up the good work.

Tammy, it is your blog and absolutely your right to state your opinion. If people don't like it they don't have to read it.

People forgot that our government was founded as a Christian nation with Christian principles. "In God We Trust" was not some slogan they threw in there. They really believed it.

Tammy~ I agree!!!!!!!!!!
I am on my knees with you and I too am taking every stand I can.
My greatest prayer is that our President will accept Jesus Christ as His Saviour and will include God in leading our Country! That would solve most all of these concerns!

We feel the same way Tammy. I really have to believe that more people in our country feel this way than the media leads us to believe.

Praying and trusting . . .

By the way, I just realized that I had never actually clicked on your follower button! Who knew??

Tammy Dear, I am applauding you right now. We all need to stand up and say how we feel. We have been the silent majority long enough.
At my house we are Fox News junkies also and we constantly call our are on first name bases with our reps now.
As for Obama, my DH says if you want to know if he is lying, just look to see if is mouth is moving.
I will continue to pray for our Country.
