More Christmas Decor - Entry Way, Staircase & Loft Tree

Today I am sharing more Christmas photos! I hope you're not getting tired of them yet! I decided to share the foyer, staircase and the upstairs tree.

When you enter our front door, you are standing in our foyer and straight ahead is the staircase. At the top of the staircase is the upstairs tree. Therefore, I decided to do these all together.

Stepping in the front door, you are greeted by yet another snowman! This one was given to me by my friend, Tonya, a couple of years ago for Christmas. He displays the countdown to Christmas...how many more days until Christmas. (It's the first thing Little Miss Joy does everyday when she gets up!) He is also holding some prim candy canes and pinecone greens. And beside him is my bushel basket filled with poinsettias.

To the right of those is the old faithful bench. On any normal day, you would find the bunnies (made for me by my Aunt Jo) in everyday clothing resting on the bench, but at Christmas, they get special Christmas clothes (another decorating thing that Joy looks forward to doing every year....it used to be Colt that dressed them!). The only other thing added here is a small Christmas pillow.

Now back to the staircase.....straight ahead on the wall leading up the staircase, is the primitive rusty snowman star that was a Christmas gift last year from my friend, Tonya. I traded out the normal Americana wreath for a Happy Holiday wreath.

On the staircase landing, is really one of my favorite little trees. I still just love Americana and I love to incorporate it in with my Christmas decorating. Besides loving the way the two mix, it really is more cost effective for me to add the Christmas decor to my everyday decor, instead of changing everything out (and storing it).

This slim tree is nestled inside a picnic style basket and only decorated with flags, raffia and homespun, and topped with a twig star (can you tell I love twig stars?). Above the tree, on the wall, is a Christmas wreath, "Merry Christmas" blocks, and the stockings for our two kitties, Matty and Bambi.

And this year, for the upstairs, we have something a little different. For the past few years, we've had a simple tree lit on the front porch and this is the tree we have usually used. However, remember this year, I decided to keep it even more simple on the front porch, with NO lights, so we added this tree upstairs. I didn't want to spend money on this, so Joy and I brainstormed on what we could do. First of all, we thought about what purpose our loft serves. It is a combination of library (with the massive wall of shelves), playroom, and computer/craft nook. So keeping this in mind, Joy decided she wanted to do stuffed animals (as a toy tree). We tried to keep it to Christmas stuffed animals. Then I remembered all the Little Golden Books I had from when Colt and Joy were really little, so we added those. And that's how this tree came to be. No cost to us, and I just love how it says alot about this area and us. And I also love the fact that you can see this tree standing downstairs, looking up into the loft.

And here's a photo looking downstairs.

You can actually get a little peek here at the living room below. I love to sit in my recliner with the lights dim like this with all the twinkling lights around me....with my cup of cocoa and watch Christmas movies! Did I mention that before? :)

And then here's a shot looking up at the loft area. It's been a tradition for quite some time since living in our home, to hang greenery and bows in the "open window" areas of the loft. It wouldn't feel the same to have this decor every Christmas, so every year, I climb up there (with my fear of heights) and hang this. If I'm lucky some years, I can get Jason to do it for me. This year we did it together.

And that's it. Thank you so much for stopping by again! I really appreciate all that have stopped by and those that have left comments. It is so fun sharing Christmas decor, especially with those that really love Christmas and decorating just as much as I do!

Stop by again soon for more Christmas pictures. Next up will either be the living room or the kitchen, depending on which one, I get pictures of next! I'm looking forward to our ladies Christmas party here Friday night, so maybe I'll have pictures to share from that too!

Happy Wednesday!

Tammy I love everything. It is so inviting and makes me feel all warm inside. You have once again done a beautiful job. I love the little tree on the stair case. Once again you made me think of my Nanny she loved decorating for Christmas but she was very patriotic. She would love this tree. I can't wait to see the rest of your home. Wish I was coming with the ladies from Church so I could see it in person and meet you! :)
