A Cabinet for Christmas

Jason has been working on something for the past few weekends. Before you get too excited, it's not for me or for our home. (Sigh!) Although, I would love to have it in my home, the cabinet was made for a a friend. It will be used as a pantry. They live in an older home, with lots of character, but low on cabinet space in the kitchen. They are expecting their third child, a baby girl. They already have two boys...ages eight and nine. They are all excited, and are arranging and making preparations and room for her arrival.

Jason custom built the pantry to fit their kitchen. He also took into consideration Beth's heighth when opening the doors as to the placement of the handles and how to place the shelves. He had me measure cereal boxes to make sure he made one of the shelves tall enough to accomodate them.

He finished the cabinet this weekend and we delivered it last night. I was so excited to see the cabinet in their home and they were excited to have the extra storage room and I believe they really loved it (both Beth and Randall), and Jason was just pleased that everyone was happy.

I sure wish that I had thought to take my camera and get a picture of it in their home because it looked great against the color of their walls!

I'm so glad he finished it by Christmas for them, and most importantly in well enough time before the arrival of their little Bella in January.

Now Jason has two more things to build in time for Christmas...one for my mom and one for Joy. I probably won't get to show you those until after Christmas, but I'll take pictures and show you then.

Well I hope everyone is warm and safe during the ice and snow that I'm hearing alot of you all are having. We are actually under a winter advisory tonight here in the south with freezing rain and ice expected....I hope it's not ice....snow would be lovely, but I don't welcome the ice as we ALWAYS lose electricity. I'm actually holding my breath trying to get this scheduled to post, as our satellite internet service is going on and off this evening with the weather.

In spite of the weather, I hope you all have a wonderful week and a great time during this Christmas season filled with fun, relaxation, and memories with your family! :)

What a awesome cabinet!!!
It looks wonderful...to bad it's not for you ;) It is so great to have a handy husband who can build just about anything.

I hope you don't get all the bad weather that they are calling for. Sadly it is causing so much damage all around. We were very lucky last night...we were suppose to get freezing rain but instead only rain fell which melted alot of the snow but now every where you look it is nothing but ice...mini ice rinks. Quite dangerous to go out and walk. And now they are calling for a snow storm tomorrow. This is what I hate most about WINTER! I just hope that it wont be a bad one this year but it sure isn't starting out very good.

Merry Christmas to you and your family...hopefully everyone will be able to go home and be safe for the days to come.

If you lived closer, I'd have to commission one of those - it is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still no power for hundreds of thousands around here including my parents and snow, rain and ice are coming tonight. It's very discouraging for so many. My parents are just so distraught. I am so glad I can take them in but they want to be home.

I hope you still have power and have no trouble after your storm.

hugs, Linda

My, my,my! He is truely talented! If only you were close enough that he could come over and measure my spaces where I want shelving and cabinets. I, too, would be so proud to have Jason's craftmanship in my home.
Hoping and praying that you didn't lose electricity. This is a nasty storm and the weather man says round 2 is due Thursday! Yikes!

Hey Tammy; Wow he did a awesome job on the cabinet. What a gifted man, blessed with such talent. I just love it. How great of him to make it for them. We are getting the snow and some freezing rain later. It is going to snow all night. Love the snow but do not love the ice.

Stay warm and safe.
