The Goodwill Chair (Stenciled)

Remember the $10 Goodwill chair that I found to use with the desk Jason made Joy? It went from this

to this (which we liked).

But....there was so much white (different shade variations though) in her room, that we thought a small stenciled design on the back of the chair would be nice. I was walking through Hobby Lobby last week and saw the sweetest little stencil. I thought Joy would really like it and it would coordinate with her room, so I bought it. I showed it to her when I picked her up from dance and as I thought, she loved it. So.....Sunday afternoon, I stenciled it.

What a cute little facelift it gave the chair! I like that it's just a hint of flowers and color. I purposely used the same colors that Joy had used on her painted letter and little sign she decorated at her birthday party (if you remember the girls making those).

We added her letter "J" to her bulletin board window above her desk....that's the place she finally decided she would like to put it.

And then we added the "Joy's Room" sign to her bedroom door. That's her Jonas Brothers calendar up above it. I couldn't persuade her to put her "J" there with the sign...she wouldn't BUDGE that Jonas Brothers calendar! :)

So those little small additions actually gave her bedroom a fresh look......and we are both loving it! :)

How sweet! Those flowers are just perfect.

Leah Kate loves Joy's music on her blog. She was dancing around the room to the chipmunks and Kung Fu Fighting the other day. Actually, she loves Joy's whole blog! She wants her own so bad, but she's only seven - we need to wait a few more years!

I love the red wall that your fireplace is on. Is the entire room that color, or just one wall?

That is so cute and girly! When/if she grows out of her love of girly and wants a classic look, the chair can be painted again. That is such a nice chair with great lines. I can see her using it throughout her lifetime.

Have a wonderful week, Tammy!

What a transformation on the chair. The color and stenciling makes it look like a piece that you would find at a nice furniture store. It looks great!

You have something waiting for you at my post. Not sure that I did it correctly, but I tried...

Happy blessings,

Gigi
