♥ Blessed ♥

At our house, picture taking is just a part of Christmas. Everyone has just gotten used to me having the camera out and making asking everyone to cooperate. Unfortunately, this year my (main) lens on my camera broke a few weeks before Christmas, and most of our pictures were taken with a phone and a small point and shoot camera, thus they are not that great quality and some are little blurry.   I have been completely lost without my camera! :(

Also, anytime our oldest (Colt) is involved in the picture taking, we’ve learned to expect the unexpected. Then add to that a 4 year old (Luke) that laughs at everything big brother does, and it makes for a very interesting photo shoot. The photos pretty much show which ones cooperate (and which ones don't). :)

From Christmas Eve:

I finally just gave up and was saying just take it anyway....it is what it is.  :)

Three generations of ladies.  :)  Me, Joy & Mama

Koda, Amber & Colt.  See Koda's eyes?  That cracks me up.  Her eyes were glowing green (instead of red) and when I tried to photo correct it, it wouldn't correct anything but the middle part of her eyes.  Koda looks like she's wearing green eye shadow.  :)

Mama and Daddy

Pop playing with Luke.  Luke was making the Hulk "smash" the tower.  Jason made the blocks for him for Christmas.

Mama, Daddy, Luke & Joy

From Christmas morning:

I have no idea why that date says 12/24/2012, because it was 12/25....Christmas morning!

Brothers.....Luke sharing a "cupcake" with Colt.

Luke loved helping hand out the gifts.

We finally got all the Christmas decorations  down this past weekend. The house always looks so bare after they come down, at least for awhile until I get used to it. Do you think so? But it IS kind of nice to get back into our normal routine. I'm looking forward to a wonderful 2013. One thing I know for sure.......we are blessed. :)

Today is also my Mama's birthday! She and Elvis share a birthday. Pretty awesome, huh? We're going out to eat to celebrate tonight.  Happy birthday, Mama! I love you! :)

Thanks for stopping by! :

{Sometimes Willing} Little Model

As I mentioned in the last couple of posts, Joy has been very interested in photography and has taken my camera out on mini photo shoots.

Well Luke has been drawn into her little photo shoots. Most of the time, he’s fairly willing, although not always cooperative. I like that she captured all those things in Luke’s personality though through her little photo shoots.

Joy has already posted these on her blog and she gave me permission to share them here on my blog.

Luke, the monkey:

He never fails to pick flowers for me when he goes outside.  :)

Well you can't wear a monkey suit without acting like one, can you?

Luke, the farmer boy:

Luke, the baseball player:

He obviously dressed himself....his shirt is on backwards!  :)

Luke, the annoyed:

And last of all, here’s yet another photo by Joy I'm including for Sandra's 31 days of fall challenge.  Maybe I’ll take my own photo soon…..but she’s doing such a great job and letting me borrow them…….. :)  And this one has fall written all over it…..it's that time when we get to break out the boots…..and these are Joy’s new ones!

To everyone that stopped by today, thank you very much! Have a great day!  I hope you’ll join me tomorrow for Faithful Friday. And soon I’ll take you on a little field trip to my mom’s house to see all the good stuff my carpenter has made for her home!  :)

Colt and Amber......3 Years

I remember well the evening when Colt slipped in the pew beside me at church and playingly said, "I met a girl today......she's pretty and she can sing!" "You've got to meet her".

I did.

That was a little over 3 years ago.

They first met at "Meet You at the Pole". They were both there to perform music at the flagpole (where students gather around the flagpole on a designated day to pray and sing).....she to sing and he to play the guitar.

And here they still are 3 years later........

I wonder........could this possibly be a little thing called love?

Behind the Scenes

We go through this every year! Every year I get the kids together for a Christmas picture to include with our Christmas cards, and just for me to have some Christmas photos of them! Each year gets a little harder finding a time when I can catch Colt at home long enough, and dressed to somewhat coordinate with Joy (not a favorite thing for a 19 year old boy to want to do, but done to please dear ole mom)!

And...since Colt was little bitty, he's always been quite the clown....or else just not wanting his picture taken. He's the same little guy in preschool graduation that found numerous uses for his diploma....telescope, head-bopper, orchestra wand....I guess he's always thought it his job to be silly and so he has been and still is at times like this!

I might as well plan on a Christmas photo shoot taking awhile! This year was no different. Joy is always ready for the camera with a pose and a smile, and Colt is the clown. The slideshow pictures below tell the story though. You'll see all the photos ending with the one we used for our Christmas cards.

The pictures begin with Colt playing the Wii and Joy and I trying to convince him to come over to the couch for pictures...so I just started snapping pictures there. He's looking at the video screen on these and Joy is over his shoulder. They finally move to the couch and thus the funny faces begin! Scroll on down to the slideshow labeled "Behind the Scenes" in the post directly below and enjoy our silly side!

Have a great day....and remember to take time to laugh with your family! You're making memories to last a lifetime! :)
