These pictures were taken on a trip to my brother's house. My sister-in-law, Missy, and I had rolled the girls' hair this particular evening in their sponge rollers for church the next morning. I loved the bouncy Shirley Temple curls....all dressed up in their Sunday dresses with bows in their hair for church on Sunday mornings! For us, it was an every Saturday night event...rolling Joy's hair up in the sponge curlers! It was a sad day when she thought she was too old to do that every week (a couple of years ago). We just do it special occasions now or sometimes she'll ask for her hair that way!
I just love these photos too! The girls were having a great time playing around this particular evening!

"Pop" is the name the grandkids call my daddy. Pop has given them all nicknames too. Joy is his "Sweet Pea" and Laci is his "Snuggles". Of course, the boys all had nicknames as well! I always said the girls (and the boys for that matter) had him wrapped around their little finger, so when I had this picture of them in their curlers, I knew just how they would be scrapbooked....and that these photos would be the perfect ones to tell the story of Pop and his girls!
I have no idea why the colors look so different in this picture...the pages had the same colors on them...I guess it was a different angle and thus the lighting made it appear a different color.
The journaling on the scrapbook page reads:
I think these photos are so appropriate. Just the way Joy and Laci have their hair all wrapped in curlers, so they have their Pop wrapped around their pinkies! These are his granddaughters and how he does spoil them! He gave them their nicknames. Joy is Sweet Pea. Laci is Snuggles. They love their Pop.
And here's a photo of them taken together just a few days ago when Laci was here (Joy is now nine and Laci will turn five this month):
