Happy Thanksgiving!

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!  Serve the Lord with gladness!  Come into his presence with singing!  Know that the Lord, he is God!  It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.  Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!  Give thanks to him; bless his name!  For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 100 (NIV)

From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!  :)

Pinned it, Made it! Monday & More

Good morning everyone!

I'm so sorry that I failed to pop in here and let you know that I'm taking two weeks off from Pinned it, Made it! Monday, that being yesterday (November 25th) and next Monday as well (December 1st).  I will be back at it on Monday, December 8th.

I really appreciate my blogging friends!  Thanks for hanging with me and not giving up on me during my time away from regular blogging.  I have much to share and hope to get back at it after our vacation this week.  We're in Alabama for the week of Thanksgiving.

I hope you and your family have a Blessed Thanksgiving!  :)

A Shopping Tradition......

This is the result of four women shopping for fifteen hours on Black Friday. :)

You should have seen all of this and us crammed into my little Mazda 3.  But we did it.  :)

My mom, sister-in-law, niece-in-law, and I left the house at 3:10 a.m. and came dragging back in at 6:00 p.m. (with pizza for supper). :)

Joy stayed home with the men and helped out with the little ones all day. The guys were very thankful for her help….and she was happy to be surrounded by babies. (Thanks for your prayers….she is much better).

We had a great time, found some great deals, laughed a lot, and came home exhausted. Next year we will plan to do it all over again. :)

What about you? Did you shop on Black Friday?

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

Luke Meets His Great Grandma (A Surprise Visit)

Recently, my Uncle Jesse came out to help Daddy complete work on installing a new heating and air unit in their home.  And remember my mom and dad live next door?  Well when Uncle Jesse came, he brought a pleasant surprise with him.......my Grandma!  She's my only living grandparent.  I hadn't seen her since last Thanksgiving when we went to Alabama.

We always tell her to come see us.  However, we know it's hard for her to make the 4 hour trip one way at her age.  She's soon to be 93!  But she did it!  She surprised us all...especially my daddy (her son).  Daddy stops by the mail box to pick up their mail as he comes in every afternoon and he picks up our mail as well and brings it to our back door and says hi to the kids.   Well, Grandma was at my house then, so we "hid her" in the living room on the piano bench.  When he came in, we sent him in the living room telling him to go look on my piano at what I got today.  :)  And there she sat...all 5 feet of her!   He was totally (and pleasantly) surprised!

This was the first time Grandma and Luke had met.  They hit it off just fine.  Luke was so gentle with her and she enjoyed him!

I was thrilled to get these pics of them.

She does so well for her age and I think she looks great at her age!

We get to spend Thanksgiving again this year with her.  And then, I'll be one of those crazy ones out bright and early on Black Friday.  Alot of us ladies have a great time though and always get great deals.  We all meet up for lunch and eventually go home exhausted having put in a full day, but then we always end up doing it all again the next year!  :)

And speaking of Thanksgiving, I wish you all a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving with your families!

Hugs and Blessings,
~ Tammy ~

Black Friday Shopping & Two "Young" Chics

I can't believe it's been since Wednesday that I've posted! What a treat it was to come back home and read all the comments on Sunday! Thank you so much for stopping by for the dining room Christmas pictures and for the kind comments! I hope to catch up on blog reading late at night these next few evenings. I will be getting ready for our party here on Friday night, so it will be a very busy week for me. I am looking forward to it so much, though!

Just for a quick post today, I wanted to leave you with a picture that is a result of our Black Friday shopping. My mom, sister-in-law, and niece-in-law (if that is a correct word) and myself were out at Walmart at 4:30 a.m. on Friday. Although Black Friday shopping is a tradition for us, I have to say this was the first time to be at a Walmart, and I don't know that I ever want to be THERE again at that time! It was wild! When 5:00 a.m. rolled around, and they announced on the loud speaker to "go", I never saw such madness! People were throwing things over their shoulder into their carts and passing things over the head to the crowd behind them. I just stepped out of the way and watched. However, my sister-in-law, Missy, did manage to be one of the lucky ones to get a Wii. I just stood back and "watched our basket" from the things we had put in there before 5:00 a.m. All in all, it was fun though! The rest of the places weren't as bad. Later for lunch, we met with several other relatives, including my 90 year old Grandma, for lunch at Mama Blues.

So here's the result from four women shopping for 15 hours on Black Friday! Believe me, I didn't have one bit of trouble sleeping on Friday night! Oh, and you should have seen us trying to get all the stuff home (my mom's and mine) in one car because Jason and Colt had come home earlier because both had to work. Joy and I were packed in the back seat with LOTS of stuff! But would I do it again, yep, but I think I'd would think very strongly about starting at Walmart! :)

And one last thing....we had our Thanksgiving dinner at the church fellowship hall of the church attended by lots of our family members just because it's a HUGE family and there's more room there! These two pictures following are of my Grandma and Joy (her great Grandma). Joy walked up and was hugging her and I remarked that she was almost as tall as Grandma and they posed for these pictures laughing about it.

Joy is 9 and Grandma is 90! They are both blessings!

Next Christmas pictures I will be sharing is the foyer, staircase, and upstairs tree. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! :)
