Isn’t it fun to see how our taste changes over time? Here are some of the dishes I’ve had over the years. I actually have the very first set from when we were married, but they are up in the Cedar Loft being put to use there when we stay out there. After 30 years, I guess you’d think there would be more, but dishes aren’t something I change out very often. What about you?
But……this Christmas, I got new dishes! I bet you can’t guess what color they are!
Yep, red, of course. Never mind that warm colors like red are supposed to make you eat more……..I still love my red!
I had my eye on these for awhile from Walmart (no fancy dishes for me) and between my mom and dad and Jason, I now have 3 sets of them. I can’t wait to see my table set with them. Unfortunately, they still need to be unboxed and washed, but before that happens, I’ll be organizing and donating unneeded dishes in an attempt to simplify. I’ve decided that it’s really unnecessary and takes up a lot of space having so many odds and ends dishes that I either don’t use or at least rarely use. So guess what I’m going to be doing this week!
What color are your dishes? Do they reflect your favorite color in general?
P.S. - I'm still without MY camera and this is a small point and shoot camera and I have no idea how to take off that silly date thingie. Have I said how much I miss my camera? :)
Come back and join me for Pinned it, Made it! Monday. I hope to have that post up tomorrow evening. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Tammy, Love your new red dishes. I apparently have a thing for dishes, I have white, offwhite, red, green, brown, yellow, blue and white, and Christmas dishes. You will be able to decorate yours is so many fun ways. They can be used for every holiday:)
ReplyDeleteNice bright pretty red dishes! I still have my Nortoki 12 piece china set that was a wedding gift to me and I still use them for special dinners. They will be handed down to my kids when I am gone. I also have the 8 piece china set that was our wedding gift to Suzette when she got married. I have it boxed and it will go to the first granddaughter that gets married.
ReplyDeleteHi Tammy, I adore the red dishes! I am using a set of Corelle with green herbs on them. I would love to have new dishes but have not found exactly what I want yet. I have weak hands/wrists and need something very lightweight.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your table all set with these beautiful dishes.
I think you've seen mine, probably on one of my food pictures....but I love blue and white, and especially ones from England, I collect a lot of those.
ReplyDeleteNice! I currently have a white set. I love how they go with anything and everything.
ReplyDeleteLove the red dishes Tammy. I love to swap out dishes and leave my table set. I have a few red plates and mugs and I am going to use them soon. I love a little red in every room.

ReplyDeleteI confess that since I am alone I use a lot of paper dishes, :-)
ReplyDeleteYour red dishes are very pretty.
I think we have the same red dishes or very similar. I am like you. I use dishes until they all break and am forced to get new ones.
ReplyDeleteLove those red dishes! No fancydishes for me either, Tammy. Mine are mustard and Amanda got me half of them for my birthday one year. I asked her where she got them so I could go get more, and she said I am embarrassed to tell you. It was Big Lots.
ReplyDeleteWell Curtis and I took off and got all they had. Doesn't take much to make me happy. I liked the ones with the hearts too, ou showed.
I love the red dishes and have a few similar to yours! I also have some of the heart plates you show in the bottom right picture! How funny! I'd like to have a set of Christmas dishes, but since we never host Christmas here, that's not something I'm likely to spend money on.
ReplyDeleteI love your red dishes!!!! As for me I hav ll white dishes....Love them.. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI have the same corelle and the heart ones! Most days we use plain white corelle, but other times we use the china I've had since 1986 or so. I used to only use it on special dinners, then decided to use it more often as my family is special!
ReplyDeleteI love them so much
ReplyDeleteHugs x
Tammy, my very favorite color is RED. The more red used as decoration in my home the better..
ReplyDeleteEnjoy every mouthful and morsel that you eat on your new dishes.
Red, to me, is such a happy, warm and friendly color.

I bought dishes at the dollar store till I could find exactly what I wanted. But I am now finding myself falling in love with these. The plates are orange. The bowls have fall leaves. So they match perfectly. I found orange coffee cups to go with them.I still need to find little plates to mach.
