I know many of you are fortunate enough to have wonderful primitive shops near by (especially those in the New England states) because I’m always drooling over the charming stores, but we really have nothing of that sort here. The closest I really get to great finds of the primitive sort (besides yard sales) is the antique gallery, which is a really a mix of antiques and a flea-market type atmosphere with lots of vendor booths. I always look forward to stopping in there when we’re in that area. It’s about a 45 minute drive from here.
I thought I’d share my latest finds. I already shared in another post what my mom (and dad) gave me for my birthday………the stone crock and the butter paddle that I picked out at the antique gallery. Well here are a few other things I’ve picked up within the last month or so.
I have to admit that I have a thing about baskets. They don’t have to be a particular kind. I just know one that I like when I see it.
This one is a caddy type basket, which I am using in my kitchen.
I liked the color, shape and sturdiness of this basket. Right now, it’s holding my Country Sampler magazines near the fireside chair. It’s one of those that will probably serve multi purposes for me though.
The crock in the picture below was marked down. I got it for $9. Oh how I love crocks……and if they’re a little chipped, it’s all the better! I really love the solid brown ones!
And you know how I love stars. I picked up this one for my upstairs bathroom for $3. I’m almost ready to share that bathroom. When I get my new fixture in there, I’ll share some photos of it.
And this chenille pumpkin caught my eye and it had to come home with me. I think I paid $10 for it. Isn’t it cute?
And this basket, I picked up at Goodwill for 99 cents. Baskets just make wonderful little organizers that look great. Not sure what I'm going to do with this one, but I'll figure something out. But for 99 cents it had to come home with me. :)
Speaking of pumpkins, I did my interior fall decorating Monday evening. Luke was my little helper. I’ll share that on another post later this week.
And then yesterday (Wednesday) I received the giveaway package in the mail from Sandi (of The Primitive Skate)! I won her birthday/fall giveaway. I was a little kid at Christmas when the mail lady honked. She only does that when we have something that won't fit in our mailbox, so I knew that meant a package! Just look at all of those fall goodies!
And Sandi made everything (except the candle and soap that is). Those fall blocks are so darling! Those just might be my favorite.....or could it be the scarecrow or the pumpkin. Gosh, I don't know.......I just loved everything! Thank you so much Sandi! :)
I went right to work adding them to my fall decor.
The candle is called Spice Cake and it smells heavenly! It arrived just in time for my piano lessons, so the house smelled so good when everyone came!
Oh and Sandi was so sweet.......she included a little package for Luke. Of course, it didn't take him long to tear into it and boy did she know what he loves.......Bob the Builder books! I think that smile says it all, but Luke says "thank you" ,Ms. Sandi! I think we'll be reading Bob the Builder books to him for awhile now! :) And it won't be long until he'll be reading them on his own as he's very anxious to learn to read.
I'll be back on Saturday to share where I put my fall goodies from Sandi and the rest of the fall decor!
Tomorrow is Faithful Friday time! I hope you’ll stop by. Joy and I also invite you to join us with a post to link up!
Thank you for stopping by today! :)

You are in the fall spirit! I am not quite there yet, but I love your baskets. My kids teased me about having a basket addiction. I think there is just nothing like a good one, and especially an inexpensive good basket. I just bought two on Tuesday myself. :)
ReplyDeleteBrown crocks, butter paddles, old spoons and old baskets........I love those things better than the expensive pottery out there.
