We had the prettiest snow last night! It made for a snug and cozy evening inside.
It wasn’t supposed to be but a few flakes, but it really started coming down in huge gorgeous flakes for a few hours leaving us with a dusting, possibly an inch of snow.
Jason went outside and turned on the porch lights of The Cedar Loft so we could enjoy the snow fall under the lights from the kitchen.
After supper dishes were cleaned up, we all snuggled on the couch in the living room with bowls of popcorn.
And enjoyed yet another Christmas movie, An Avonlea Christmas, with the window blinds open in the living room so we could enjoy the snow fall through the front porch lights.
It was just one of those perfectly cozy evenings with my family that I want to etch in my memory forever with the Christmas lights twinkling inside and the beautiful snowflakes falling outside.
I know you folks up north get a good laugh at us folks (here in the south). But then again, we can get excited I suppose because we never have to worry about shoveling it every day. By morning, the snow was gone for the most part, and the rest of it melted quickly since the ground was still warm from previous days of rain.
It was good while it lasted. And I’m beginning to think that our persimmon seed weather forecast just might be right on. With snow here already in November, we just might see a lot of snow this winter.
And I'm just fine with that. :)
Its very strange you al are getting snow in the south and we are having 60 degree weather up north!!
ReplyDeleteHappy you got to spend a cozy evening with your family!!:0)
Sounds like the perfect evening to me! Unfortunately too many times when it's snowing here in PA either my hubby or daughter are out driving in it and that scares me so much. But I love the times when it snows and we can do like you did and just enjoy the beauty of it!
ReplyDeleteSounds like my kind of evening. Love the pictures! Everything looks so cozy.
ReplyDeleteMama,
ReplyDeleteIt was so cozy! Hopefully there are more nights like that to come! I wonder what kind of snow we'll be getting in January and February. And boy, wouldn't it be great to have a white Christmas?
I love you! 8!
God bless you!
Love,
Joy :D
Very pretty...we are getting snow right now.
ReplyDeleteHave a good night....Earlene
So pretty:) I sometimes wish our snows here in PA disappeared as quickly, lol, ours seem to hang around forever!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely evening & such pretty pictures, Tammy. We have no snow yet here in Mi. Thanks for sharing.

Aww what a lovely post. I have to rent that movie.
ReplyDeleteYou had snow and we up here in NH had 63 degrees. Did the earth flip or something? We will have much cooler temps today and back into the 40's by Friday. I do like a soft snow that is here today to enjoy and gone tomorrow! Perfect.
ReplyDeleteSounds dreamy!
ReplyDeleteA very lovely post and a great memory made for your family...I hope to see some beautiful falling snow this winter....it is always an exciting time for us...blessings
ReplyDeleteSounds like my kind of evening! Nothing better! I love to watch it snow! It just doesn't happen much! There's just something magical about watching the snow fall!
ReplyDeletePretty! And cozy!
ReplyDeleteBTW - saw Mr. Luke on the IM Yahoo home page. Handsome fella!
We had a few flurries yesterday evening nothing like you experienced. What a wonderful cozy evening you were able to enjoy. Keep watching those wonderful Christmas movies......blessings!
ReplyDeleteWe are due for snow on Saturday. Yuk. I don't mind the pretty snow but when it gets dangerous to drive which is a lot of the time, then it's no fun. But my boys love the white stuff and can't wait to go sledding!
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a nice snow fall but we are to get it today and I am not a snow person because ours here seems to last and just keep piling up.
ReplyDeleteI agree that these are snuggle up times however.
Hugs
OH my my my! You're getting snow before us! And we are more north! Crazy! Why is it that snowy nights are so cozy! You just described a picture perfect story setting! Loved it! Yea...the popcorn made me drool!
