Update on Joy

I just wanted to update you on Joy. We went to the Dr. today and she has the flu...Type A (supposedly the worse of the two kinds going around). Because she developed it over the weekend, she's too far into it for Tamiflu to work, so she has to wait it out. Last night was a rough night with fevers of 102 and 103 degrees. It has also thrown a curve into our testing tomorrow. She will not be able to attend, Dr.'s orders. The Dr. said no way...she's too contagious.

She was around some family yesterday for Easter and we're really hoping they don't get it. They've all be forewarned to get into the doctor for Tamiflu if they develop any symptoms.

Jason will be home with her tomorrow so I can continue on with the testing for our area.

I appreciate your prayers! She will be out of commission for a few days, and hopefully everyone else here will be fine. I guess we should have gotten the flu shot!

I'll be back in a few days! Thanks for stopping by! :)

  16. I'm so sorry, Tammy, but I'm sure she will be fine.. Just give her time. Poor thing---I feel so terrible. She'll be able to take her test at another time I'm sure.. You wouldn't want her to be tested when she's so sick anyhow.

Bless her heart. Give her a big hug from me. Hope the rest of your family members don't get it.

    Hugs and Prayers,
    Betsy

  24. Please tell Joy I hope she feels better ASAP. And please don't kick yourslef about the shot. It only can cover so many strains and not all of the ones that were bad this year were in the shot so many got sick even with it. They just don't know ahead of time which ones will attack us.

I look forward to hearing that joy is feeling better soon!

  50. Hi Tammy, I sure hope Joy is on the mend soon!
Thanks for your encouraging words! Julianna is a tough cookie but the situation still hurts.
And I didn't know if I'd told you before or not but I did homeschool the girls for a year, when Emily was in grade 3 and Julianna in grade 1. Fantastic year and so wonderful for our family... but with the math that was on the horizon, too intimidating for me. Having to learn it myself was bad enough, but to be responsible to TEACH it...?!? Not on your life! We also found that Emily really needed the social interaction that school provides as she's a very cautious person who could quickly become a loner. And Julianna... well let's just say that instruction coming from a teacher rather than from 'mom' is followed much more happily. Both girls excell at school and apart from this bit of trouble are doing great! Homeschooling my kids was a step I never thought I'd attempt but am so glad I tried.I guess I'm an advocate for both sides!
    Have a great day! Kimberly

And I hope you'll enjoy those granola bars. Next time I'm making a double batch ... and hiding some.

Thanks, as always, for visiting. I so enjoy your comments and thoughtfulness.
