Remember the $10 Goodwill chair that I found to use with the desk Jason made Joy? It went from this
to this (which we liked).
But....there was so much white (different shade variations though) in her room, that we thought a small stenciled design on the back of the chair would be nice. I was walking through Hobby Lobby last week and saw the sweetest little stencil. I thought Joy would really like it and it would coordinate with her room, so I bought it. I showed it to her when I picked her up from dance and as I thought, she loved it. So.....Sunday afternoon, I stenciled it.
What a cute little facelift it gave the chair! I like that it's just a hint of flowers and color. I purposely used the same colors that Joy had used on her painted letter and little sign she decorated at her birthday party (if you remember the girls making those).
We added her letter "J" to her bulletin board window above her desk....that's the place she finally decided she would like to put it.
And then we added the "Joy's Room" sign to her bedroom door. That's her Jonas Brothers calendar up above it. I couldn't persuade her to put her "J" there with the sign...she wouldn't BUDGE that Jonas Brothers calendar! :)
So those little small additions actually gave her bedroom a fresh look......and we are both loving it! :)
I love how Joy's chair turned out. It looks very nice in her room. That was cute about the Jonas Brother's calendar... :o)

That is so cute and girly! When/if she grows out of her love of girly and wants a classic look, the chair can be painted again. That is such a nice chair with great lines. I can see her using it throughout her lifetime.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week, Tammy!
The chair looks so perfect and I love the signs and letters. I can remember what fun we had decorating both our girls and boys rooms when they were young.
