Serenading Mom

You've seen so much of our daughter, Joy, because she's always in front of the camera and she's with me ALL the time! However, you haven't seen much of our son, Colt. He's nineteen, and you know how it is with teenagers....it's hard to always catch them at home between school, work and friends. But, if Colt is home for very long at all, you'll usually find him with his guitar in hand. He is so fun to have around and loves to keep us entertained!

He often comes and sits where I am and "serenades" me (so I call it). I love those times! Whether I'm in the kitchen working, out on the sunporch with the laptop (his by the way), or in the living room, he'll bring in his guitar and sit and play and sing. And he gets goofy....but I like goofy. I know he doesn't necessarily do it FOR me, but it's still a special time (for me anyway)! Sometimes, he asks what I think of something he's writing, or if I like a song "this way or that way" better, but mostly he just plays.

The song playing in the background is a song that I hear him playing and singing among many others! (I've learned to enjoy a whole new type of music with him).

I'm just so happy that he chooses to be there at that moment with me and these moments I treasure.....

Great pictures of your son. I first noticed the song, I think it's great! My husband plays the guitar and it's just fun to hang out and have him playing it. The boys love it. :) I hope my boys want to hang out where I am when they get older. :)

Awww, that is wonderful! My older boy loves to sing, and does it all the time - be it singing or humming. He's done it since he was quite young. I always think of him as "serenading" me too.

Hugs,
Andrea

How awesome your son will share his talent with you. My 8 year old got a guitar from his grandparents for Christmas several years ago and has no idea how to play but tries anyway. He's always asking too...how do you like this sound Mom? He also loves to sing... he'll even sing his answers to me sometimes... or he sings along with country music in the car.

How sweet. What a special young man.
I especially like it when my 19 year son comes up behind me and gives me a big hug. But, he usually rubs his whiskers on my cheek, though. Not so fun, but you won't hear me complain!

Thanks for the comment on my blog about the patterns. I think Ragan has narrowed her choice down to 5 or 6, so a trip to the fabric store will be forthcoming!

How nice to see your Colt! "My" Colton is going to be just tickled. He is certain to call your Colt his twin! Same name ... must be my brother is what he'll be thinking. LOL

How precious to have a young man who still likes to play for his mom! What a blessing!
